What is the Perfect Quilting Ruler to Use?
I am a complete novice to quilting. Other than knowing quilts are exceptionally warm and beautiful (my great grandmother was doing them once upon a time), I know precious little about them. I also have a couple of very close friends who have started cottage industries with quilts and hence, I am getting slowly educated on the process of how they make it.
I am good at writing, they are good at business. Hence, I was not surprised when my friends asked me to help them with a few articles on quilting for their sites to boost their rankings. I immediately accepted the task, not withstanding the fact that I knew next to nothing about quilting. However, I believe that there is a first time for everything.
Finding Out the Basics
The first thing I felt I needed was to understand the process from the very beginning to the end-product. Hence, I called my two friends and we had a mini-workshop where I filled one and half notebooks with question answers about the very basics of making a quit. Then we proceeded in outlining the most important keywords that could be associated with this art. Among others, I remember there was a very intriguing keyword phrase, i.e. quilting ruler.
I remember it very well, because it puzzled me very much at that time. I knew that quilts are best stitched with scraps of rejected cloth. It astonished me that this would need a
quilting ruler – a special tool for measuring. It turned out to be quite different that what I thought.
The quilting ruler is not used for measuring as much as it is used to trace the pattern of the quilt on the fabric. Many quilt-makers need a number of rulers and feel quite frustrated about it. However, there is one exceptional quilting ruler that fits the requirements of quilt making, as well as the satisfaction of all quilt-makers who know about it.
This amazing quilting ruler is part of the Creative Grids Non-Slip Rulers. This is actually as set, but it is so well engineered that it almost works by itself. Once the quilt-makers find about this, he/she cannot imagine their lives without it. The feature of built-in slip-proof dots makes it a hot favorite with all.
There are many other ‘improvisations’ to this particular quilting ruler which makes irreplaceable to any quilt maker. I am yet to find one so that I can learn more about it. It seems that you have to order for it in advance, and most the shops which stock it, have a two-three month long waiting list!
